What will your reward be? Convincing visuals can make all the difference!<\/p><p>One such hike, for example, is the strenuous and never-ending climb from Grindelwald to <a href=\"https:\/\/todayisagoatday.com\/top-hike-from-grindelwald\/\">M\u00e4nnlichen<\/a>.<\/p><p>Another example, though not nearly as exhausting, is the climb from Engelberg up to Tr\u00fcbsee. But let&#8217;s start at the beginning!<\/p><h3><strong>The other way around <\/strong><\/h3><p>I discovered the Tr\u00fcbsee on a beautiful tour that I took with a friend in the summer. The popular hike is called <a href=\"https:\/\/www.myswitzerland.com\/en-ch\/experiences\/route\/vier-seen-wanderung\/\">&#8220;Vier-Seen-Wanderung&#8221; <\/a>(Four-lakes-hike), starting in Melchsee-Frutt and leading over the Jochpass to Engelberg.<\/p><p>Actually, I cannot talk about &#8220;discovering&#8221; because the famous mountain lake was grey and desolate under a blanket of fog. There was truly no talk of a turquoise-blue-crystal-clear beauty, that day.<\/p><p>The lake lived up to its name. Why? The German word \u201ctr\u00fcb\u201d literally translated means \u201cmurky\u201d. The German word \u201cSee\u201d means \u201clake\u201d and that leaves us with \u201cmurky lake\u201d or Tr\u00fcbsee.<\/p><p>Nevertheless, both the unforgettable hike and the steep descent from Tr\u00fcbsee to Engelberg have remained in my memory. &#8220;We definitely have to do this hike the other way around,&#8221; I thought to myself, while my knees were cracking precariously on the descent. No sooner said than done.<\/p><h3><strong>A cold day | Cold enough?<\/strong><\/h3><p>It was cold on the day of our &#8220;other way around hike&#8221;. For the first time this year, we were out with gloves and headband. Just the right day for a warming ascent of almost 800 meters!<\/p><p>Alternatively, we could have joined the many skiers on a gondola ride up to Titlis Mountain. Titlis Mountain is undoubtedly THE starting point for extraordinary skiing fun. Is it actually cold enough for this time of year?<\/p><h3><strong>The thing about snow<\/strong><\/h3><p>Terms such as &#8220;rising snowline&#8221; and &#8220;Green Christmas&#8221; have long since become commonplace.<\/p><p>Switzerland, a notorious winter paradise, is also affected by low-snow winters and its consequences.
